I am a full diploma graduate of the IB program and I attended the University of Washington for three years, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, certified by the American Chemical Society, as well as a minor in mathematics. I then took a year off to complete my medical school applications and moved to Manhattan, where I decided to teach chemistry at a small school in the Bronx in order to help pay the rent. I fell in love with teaching and subsequently earned a Master’s degree in chemistry education from Hunter College in 2010. Prior to teaching, I was a professional portrait and wedding photographer with clients around the country, and I dabbled in dyeing and selling yarn (I also knit!).
